Reduce Cooking Time with the Whirlpool Gold® Velos™ Oven

The Whirlpool Gold® Velos™ oven combines the capacity and performance of a traditional oven with the convenience and speed of a microwave. This versatile appliance functions like four appliances in one. It functions as a true convection oven, a microwave, a steamer, and also has SpeedCook grilling capability.
When in SpeedCook mode, the Whirlpool Gold® Velos™ oven uses a 750-watt halogen bulb plus a 750-watt quartz bulb to provide a combined 1,500 watts of power. It can grill, brown and bake with traditional-oven results, even though it uses significantly less energy to do so. A traditional oven uses between 2,500 to 3,400 watts to achieve the same effect.
With the oven’s true convection cooking capabilities, a heating coil and fan work to circulate hot air around the food, allowing it to cook faster and more evenly than a conventional oven.
Food can cook nearly 50 percent faster in the Velos oven than in traditional ovens. Additionally, the Velos does not have to be preheated, as with conventional ovens. Instead, the Velos focuses heat directly on the food, resulting in reduced cooking times and increased energy efficiency.
The Whirlpool Gold® Velos™ oven with true convection retails for $899 to $969 based on finish. It is available in black on black, white on white, and stainless steel finishes. For more information, see Whirlpool.com.
