One side of the sink has a nine-inch deep basin that is roomy enough wash large pots and pans with room to spare. There is plenty of room to soak and scrub most stockpots and other sizeable cookware. The basin on the other side, however, is less than five inches deep. The shallow basin is elevated, thereby eliminating the discomfort that can be brought on by bending over a deep sink to clean small items. It is this feature that makes this design such an innovation in the area of ergonomics.
